Eligibility

Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens holding foreign passports and must have graduated from high school or provide a pre-graduation certificate. Applicants should be in good physical and mental health, have strong academic and moral standing, be friendly toward China, and have no criminal record. Freshman applicants may enroll only in the fall; spring entry is reserved for transfer students.

Language

The university uses a holistic, test-optional review for the 2026-2027 application cycle. English proficiency and standardized scores may strengthen an application and can qualify applicants for freshman scholarships.

Application path

Apply through intlapply.wku.edu.cn by June 30, 2026 for Fall 2026 entry. Upload passport, photograph, academic transcript, diploma or pre-graduation certificate, and a one-to-two-page personal essay. Optionally submit SAT, ACT, A-Level, AP, IB, UEC, or other standardized results. Transfer applicants with non-U.S. educational backgrounds must submit a NACES-approved credential evaluation.

Program notes

Fall 2026 application deadline: June 30, 2026. First-class freshman scholarship reduces annual tuition by 60%; second-class reduces annual tuition by 30%, subject to renewal requirements. Scholarship review occurs with admission; applicants indicate scholarship interest and upload evidence in the application system.
